ECHANGE MAGNETIQUE 2
(October 2020 - June 2022)

The nine participants twice exchange a 6,35mm magnetic tape, initially blank, of 15 minutes duration when played at 19cm/sec (7.5inch/sec).
The first one records what he wants on it and forwards it by post to the next, who does the same, and so on. Each artist keeps a backup copy (in case the tape gets lost), but does not share it with the others.
The idea is to project oneself into what the other person will be able to do and to forget the autonomy of one's own participation, to build knowing full well that it is not finished but that it is simply a base, a foundation for what comes next. All work is to be performed directly on this tape with total freedom of means and content, but you are not to compose elsewhere and then transfer onto the tape.

ECHANGE MAGNETIQUE 2

Les neuf participants s'échangent à deux reprises une bande magnétique 6,35mm, vierge au départ, d'une durée de 15 minutes, lue en 19cm/sec (7.5inch/sec).
Le premier enregistre ce qu'il veut dessus et fait suivre par voie postale au suivant, qui fait de même, et ainsi de suite. Il garde une copie de sauvegarde (au cas où la bande se perdrait), mais ne la partage pas avec les autres.
L'idée est de se projeter dans ce que l'autre pourra faire et d'oublier l'autonomie de sa propre participation, de construire en sachant pertinemment que ce n'est pas fini mais que c'est simplement une base, une fondation pour la suite. Et toujours travailler directement sur cette bande avec tous les outils que l'on veut mais on ne compose pas ailleurs pour ensuite recopier dessus.
